I am 24 years old and I was diagnosed with JRA when I was 10. In the past year or so my JRA has gotten a lot worse and uncontrollable. I haven't had much in the way of treatment until the last couple of weeks. I am now on Methotrexate and folic acid along with many pain meds. I am holding out hope that the Methotrexate will help and control the Stills. The Stills is an adult form of JRA and it not only attacks the joints it can attack the lungs, heart, muscles, pretty much anything and everything in the body. I have just recently found a rheumy that could connect my symptoms with a diagnosis, the thing that stumps me the most is that my new rheumy's medical student could connect the dots when other more experienced dr's couldn't. That makes me wonder if I really had to suffer over the last year and a half b/c other rheumy's could not or did not want to connect the dots.
