Michael, this sounds like RA - I had the same symptoms. I would wait for your doc to give you a diagnosis based on the examination and test results.

Patricia, have you tried folic acid? My doc prescribed this along with methotrexate b/c it lessens the side effects.

I started with prednisone (10 mg for 2 weeks, then 5 mg per day), methotrexate 15 mg (6 pills once a week) and hydroxychloroquine 200 mg twice/day. I was in pretty bad shape before I started the meds - could barely walk, coldn't open a bottle of water, hard time even getting out of bed. Have you tried the above meds first, or did your doc put you on the biologics directly?
