I was diagnosed with RA recently, but have been told by my rheumy that I have had it for a very long time. By the time I finally could not function physically or mentally any more with the pain, my husband "made" me see a Dr. I knew there was something seriously wrong with me for a long time, but blamed it on growing old. I am 54 now and for the most part have felt like I am 101. I am on Plaquenil and Humira injections. I have not been on the medication long enough to notice a difference yet. My Rhuemy put me on total disability and I had to quit a job in nursing Alzhiemers patients that I loved more than anything. I am so glad that I found this site. Other than my husband's total understanding, I feel lost. I know that I will eventually start to feel better. This site has already helped me just by reading everyones comments and experiences.
