Jay in Sarasota

I’m a 59 year old marine biologist in Florida. I was clobbered with RA with about no warning on April 27, 2006 while on a camping trip in NC. I staggered into the local emergency room the next morning and got shot up with enough things to make it home. My wife and I have no children except one beagle. The two of them keep me alive. I’m a bicycle nut and still rode 7 miles to work most days for 3 years after getting RA but I'm finding it too difficult to work now. (I don't dare stop bicycling.) I'll continue to volunteer since I have a great job but I won't have to worry about limited hours and reduced productivity. I’m an avid reader and prefer the difficult authors like Pynchon and Joyce. I like folk and classical music and watch no TV. For drugs: I’ve finally been able to get off prednisone and have gone through Enbrel, Humira and just finished my sixth series of Rituxan and this drug has been my best hope so far. I also take Plaquenil, hydrocodone, dilaudid and assorted supplements daily.
