Never blogged before so unsure how to connect with others. Hopefully somebody will contact me! Have had very active RA for 5 years now. Went through medication regimen; Plaquenil, Methotrexate, Enbrel, Humera, and now Orencia. Despite a total hip replacement last year, I'm doing quite well thanks to a wonderful rheumatologist. My 17 year old daughter was diagnosed with JRA a few years ago, and now lupus. She had a total hip resurfacing by arthroscope 3 months ago, and is scheduled for the other hip in 2 weeks. She is unable to sit or walk for very long, and has been on the Homebound program through her high school for the past year. Her pain is intense and the fatigue unrelenting. She will increase the Methotrexate after surgery, maybe that will help? Are there other young women out there who have active Lupus or RA, and have advice on how to cope and keep your spirits up? Anyone on Avara?
