I live in Farmington, Maine--which is a beautiful place if you don't need medical care.

I've been told that "Rheumatoid" is where the discussion is--though I think I probably have osteoarthritis, not rheumatoid. So I hope I am posting in the right spot. I am still looking for a doctor, as the one I was referred to turns out to overcharge by a huge amount. Can anyone tell me the difference between an orthopedics doctor and a rheumatologist, and under which circumstances one should go to one or the other? (The overcharging doctor is in orthopedics. We don't have a rheumatologist in Farmington but I think there are a few in larger towns 30-50 miles away, as well as a few orthopedists.)
