Anyone else benefit from Lyrica for FMS? If yes, have you had side effects, particularly weight gain? (I ask because that is what Neurontin does to me.)
My doc gave me a coupon for a free trial prescription of Lyrica. Now just taken my 2nd dose in 12 hours. I rarely feel this normal.
I'd like to clean my whole house, but I am pacing myself (don't want to crash for doing so).
I am also tring to be cautiously optomistic! Yet I just had to express my joy at not feeling like a TRAIN WRECK today.
Warmly,
Sharon Anne

I haven't tried it, but I know it is supposed to work well for FMS. It is always good to hear the experience of someone who has tried it! It worked that well after 2 doses? WOW! I'm glad you are pacing yourself, though, I'd hate to see you discourage yourself by getting a flare from overdoing. It probably will take time, just like everything else, for the drug to really take hold.

I have been on it for about three weeks now. I definetly feel a difference. However, I am not good at pacing myself. I starting working out on Monday for an hour and today for another hour. Now, I am having trouble moving around again and the pain is back.

I have been on Lyrica since November. I started out in a drug study program but failed to answer a question correctly on the last day of the study so didn't get accepted into the last part of the study.(could have gotten a placebo in that part). Like all of you, I can't remember when I felt this good. We have been living in our house for 5 yrs and I finally feel like painting...whoopee...no more white walls. It is an amazing drug and I will fight to keep it. Yes, there is some weight gain but now that I feel better and as soon as they figure out what is wrong with my knee I can start exercising...2006 is going to be MY year...I am going to start a water aerobics class (gently) on Monday night...
Have a wonderful day! Rebecca

I started lyrica 2 days ago. This is
the first time in 8 years that I have
been pain free. I am also taking Ultram. I am a little dizzy. This drug
is better than muscle relaxers. Is
anyone else trying lyrica?

Hi, I'm Jess and I normally post at the RA site, but I have fibromyalgia as well...I started Weds. taking Lyrica at 50 mg./day and I have felt better..initially, I tried the med at 75mg./day and the side effects were more than I could handle..I just got done reading people's comments about Lyrica at an internet site, and almost all have gained significant weight...I do not find myself craving sweets anymore than usual, and if anything, I don't feel hungry...but I'm concerned about weight gain...and yet, I think this is making me more active and comfortable...help anyone?...love, jess

Its usually water weight that you gain. If your ankles swell you have most likely got water weight.

Hi, I'm 35 years old and I've been taking Lyrica for about a month, I used to have pain all over my body and extreme fatigue for about five years and Doctors always told me that the reason i felt like I did was because my diabetes was out of control but then I started with unexplained fevers and my symptoms started getting worse. Finally,a new doctor I just started seeing sent me to a rheumatologist where she diagnosed me with Fibro and gave me Lyrica I wish I would have had this medicine 5 years ago because I feel like a new person.
