Hi,
I am 42 yrs old and was diagnosed with RA when I was 26 after many misdiagnosis. I have pain and swelling in various joints but the worst is my hands. After many years, the RA has caused deformity. I am taking enbrel, celebrexand going to PT . While some of the joints have calmed down my hands continue to swell and hurt. Please let me know if you could offer any advice on how to calm down the pain and swelling in my hands. I can't seem to find something that will help and am living in alot of pain

Thanks!!!!

I was the same way, I couldn't even bend 4 of my fingers. Someone recommended I eat vegetarian and lots of vegetables and water. I'm not saying this will help you, but within days I could bend my fingers and there is no pain. For some reason this really helped me, I didn't think it would so I was very surprised and pleased.

My feet are similar to your hands. (My hands bother me too, but not as much as my feet).

My husband bought me some slippers with heatable aromatherapy inserts. They do wonders for my feet. I'm sure you could find something similar for your hands

For hands, I've heard good things about isotoner therapy gloves http://www.totes-isotoner.com/ecommerce/control/product/~category_id=W.FEATURE/~product_id=25830

Karen, the answer to getting rid of all your pain and getting rid of rheumatism completely is to drink LEMON JUICE!! After I was diagnosed with RA, I did some research and discovered that lemon juice rids our bodies of Rheumatism. Forget 'remission'. . . . rheumatism CAN and WILL GO COMPLETELY AWAY!! HERE'S HOW MINE WENT AWAY. . . my RA VANISHED after I drank 8 ozs of pure freshly juiced lemon juice (for three nights in a row) made from a high powered juicer. I juiced 8 ozs each night, drinking it about 1 hour before going to bed each night. It took about 45 minutes to get it down because it is extremely sour. But obviously the end results were worth every bit of the trouble I went through to prepare and drink the juice. You need to peel the lemons before putting them in the juicer. And it takes 1 small to medium lemon to make one ounce of lemon juice. Then ENJOY GETTING YOUR LIFE BACK, PERMANENTLY!!!

HI,
I'VE SEEN YOUR MESSAGE ALL OVER THE SITE. IF I AM UNDERSTANDING YOU CORRECTLY, YOU ONLY DID THIS FOR 3 NIGHTS. ALSO, WHY WOULD LEMON JUICE CURE ARTHRITIS? HOW LONG AFTER YOU WERE DIAGNOSED DID YOU TRY THIS? I HAVE AN OPEN MIND ABOUT ALTERNATIVE APPROACHES, SO LET ME KNOW.
THANKS

Message to Diana..... and please take no offense to this.... R U Kidding?
Do you know how your Lemon Juice suggestion sounds a bit out of this world? Where did you hear such a thing and do you have result documentation? Because if it's true.. I'm sure there will be a Skyrocket Stock Soar in Juicers..

I'm responding to the three of you who posted a note regarding lemon juice. I AM NOT KIDDING about the lemon juice completely ridding my body of RA. The reason you have not heard about this remedy is because our government known as the FDA is doing everything in it's power to suppress and outright burn this information. They want you to be sick on drugs for the rest of your life so they can keep making their billions of dollars off of you. It's so sad that the government has completely controlled our belief system into thinking that drugs are the so-called cure for our illnesses and diseases. They are accomplishing this due to all of the advertising they do to promote their drugs. If you don't believe me, then I challange you to take note for the next two to three days while you're watching TV and see how many commercials you'll see on drugs. It will knock your socks off!! This is how the government has gained so much control in controlling your mind about the falicies of the drugs they want to pump into your body. The doctors don't even know what to do with their patients. It's a pretty pathetic health system we have in our country. Just give the juice a try just like I said and then come back on this message board and tell if your RA is not completely GONE!!

My doctor prescribed Lyrica 3 x day and cymbalta 1 x day. It helped tremendously. I stopped the cymbalta and the pain returned so I think it really helps. I have not tried stopping the Lyrica. I don't want to face the horrific hand pain again. I have RA and Fibro.

Hi, my mother would drink orange and grapefruit juice to help with arthritis so lemon juice makes sense as citrus juice of any kind. I hope someone with let me know about glucosamine & chondroitin sulfate. What is the best to take for fast improvement with pain, popping and flexing of the hands. Thanks, Sandi

In western medical concept, vitamin C can help immune system.
Drinking lemon juice will provide a lot of vitamin C into your body. Maybe It works but I am worried for stomach. I have RA more than 20 years but I haven't tried to take a lot of lemon juice as Dianaliz does. My stomach can not tolorate 8 oz of lemon juice.
