Does anyone know of a good website or book about diets that are supposed to ehlp with JRA? I keeping reading bits and peices of posts but don't know where to look of reasonable kids diets
Also, does anyone know if there is any link b/w food allergies and JRA?
I would be grateful for any info.
Thanks,
Judith

I have been doing a lot of research about food and arthritis. My daughter has poly jra and she is 6yo. The first book I got was The Executive Chef's Arthritis Cookbook and Health Guide. After reading it I pretty much threw everything out of my frig and pantry. It is a very helpful book and I have passed it on to some of my friends who have arthritis and it was an eye opener for them too. Also I have read that when you have a food allergy and you eat that certain food it sets off your immnue system so one doctor believes there might be a link to food allergies and arthritis. So I had my daughter tested for food allergies and she was negative on everything. Our family diet consists of whole/raw foods. No meat, dairy, or processed foods except for turkey or lean chicken. Also we limit our soy and wheat. I also do alot of juicing, vegtables especially. Since we started our "new diet" all my kids (3, 4 and 6yo) were hardly sick at all this school year. Even my daughter who is on MTX. Hope this answers any questions you have.
