I too have pa and feel so tired some days its all I can do to get up. My rheumy put me on remicade and after second dose had 2 days of really very little pain also on prednisone 10mg daily so side effect is I don't sleep and feel jittery a lot of the time. maybe you are experiencing side effect of enbrel call your dr maybe you need some bloodwork done good luck

Mary,
I have not but I know that social security disabililty almost always turn you down the first time. There is a support group on Yahoo for PA. I know of quite a lot of people who have applied for it there that you can search thru the post there and probably get some helpful information there or get some ideas atleast.

Enbrel shouldn't leave you fatigued, so I would say that's the PA. My son's Peds Rheumy says that if anything Enbrel will give a boost of energy, and they have several hundred kids taking it.

Abso-freakin'-lutely, fatigue is my #1 problem, even more than the pain! I've been diagnosed with PA for about 6 years now, and due to the fact that I can no longer work, and the company my husband worked for closed in June and he hasn't found another job YET, I'm not able to treat my arthritis at all. My dermotologist, bless her little heart, gives me samples of topicals for my psoriasis just so I can stay comfortable. The fatigue is overpowering at times. But I have found that the more upbeat I can manage to be, the less horrible it seems. But now that we are full force into fall, my skin is getting bad again and so is the pain and fatigue. WHY DOES THE MEDICINE HAVE TO BE SO BLEEPING EXPENSIVE????

Dear Sir Paul's Wife,
I have PA and I know what you mean about the fatique! Its Ghastly, sometimes my family and co-workers don't understand. My family is supportive, but sometimes they forget how tired this disease can make one.
I have had it for 1 year. I was on disability all summer from work, went back Sept 25th, and some days it hard to get out of bed. Luckily, I have good benefits. However the shampoo and foam I was prescribed is $50 a piece...WITH INSURANCE. Its outrageous.
I have been taking fish oil and it is helping some with the scalp and skin problems. The only thing that helps with fatique is plain old Rest.
Having a job and a family, its almost impossible to get any.
You may want to try some over the counter pain meds and get some good analgesic cream, like Icy Hot, or Immue(Selling?) oil ointment from Australia until you can get some insurance coverage. Sorry to hear that you have not been able to treat your arthritis.
Take good care.
April

Yes this time of year brings about the worst for those of us with PA among other things. I am in a flare lately, plus the fact I suffer from alleries and major sinus headaches. I have been in the primary docs office every month with a sinus infection, which we all means stopping Enbrel for atleast a week to 14 days at a time. I have been referred back out to my ENT which I am sure this is probably going to mean surgery for me. Hopefully it will be the new and easy outpatient type but guess I will have to wait till Thursdays appt to see. I'm so tired of the sinus headaches, sinus pressure in my forehead the pain just never seems to go away for the last 3 to 4 weeks straight. Atleast this last bout. The sinus headaches are triggering my migraines. Talk about misery, not to mention the PA being in a flare lately. The last week all I have wanted to do is sleep, I don't even want to get out of bed to go to work, even with my B-12 and B-2 which usually helps me out a lot. Not this week.Have to laugh or I will cry about it for sure. Have already cried once today maybe twice. Hoping for a better day later in the week. Hope you all have a better day as well.
