My hands stay cold all the time. I'm constantly pulling them up into my sleeves, putting them in my pockets, sitting on them, and all kinds of things like that to keep them warm. The cold weather is making them hurt like crazy and the only time I get any remote kind of relief is when I can keep them warm and toasty. The pain doesn't go away but it does slack up enough that I can bend my fingers better. What do you guys do to keep your hands warm and does this happen to anyone else?

Hi Julie,

I of course feel pain in my hands, but as far as cold hands I don't get that.

However, I do get really bad cold toes. I just put socks on or cover them with a blanket. My husband and i think it is due to ra and just bad surculation. sorry i could n't be of more help to you.

Julie - has anyone checked you for Reynaud's - the symptoms are constantly cold and blue or white hands and feet. It's another autoimmune response.

Mine are always cold. For the winter get some of the heat pads they sell at sports store for hunters. Then you will have heat when ever you need it.

Hi Julie,
As I type, I'm wearing my black wool fingerless gloves. I often sleep in a pair and I keep a couple of pairs at work. It doesn't get rid of the pain, but the heat provides some comfort. And wearing the gloves at night helps me to stay asleep, I think, since the heat keeps me from waking up from the ache. I'm partial towards the Marc Jacobs striped gloves on eBay. Some of my co-workers think I've got a thing for fingerless gloves as a fashion statement. I just think it's funny they think that.

My hands and feet were always cold when my anemia was bad. I still get it sometimes but it is not as bad. I had the same problem when my hand were cold they litaterly freeze up. I run warm water over them and that helps for a little while. I find the air conditioner bad at work for that kind of thing.

I have Raynauds as well as RA so my hands, feet, nose, cheeks and ears get really cold. It also makes them hurt worse and they are stiffer. Debbie.

My hands and feet get very cold. I touched my hubbys face yesterday and he yelled like a little girl. He said they were so cold it hurt!! I actually hadn't noticed that they were cold, just very sore. I wear gloves a lot even indoors in the winter and late fall. I used to wear fingerless ones at work all the time too! Infact, most cashiers up here do since it gets so cold in the front of the store. Everyone wears their winter coats, scarves and gloves in Jan and Feb. I am SO glad I dont have to do that anymore.

Has anyone tried the new ThermaCare wraps for hands and wrists? I haven't used them yet, but my husband has used the ones for your back and found them effective. Of course, these could get expensive, especially for use on a regular basis. Here's a website with more information.

I have renaulds also. Even a heating blanket doesn't help feet so I have microwavable corn sacks that I take to bed each night and heat up each morning. Problem is that warming the areas burns until temp comes up. Found that to be a painful start to warm pools during water arobics. Cindy
