Hi had a great day yesterday. took the horses and had to work the cows yesterday. wrist hurt a little but all and all a great day. However, I came home and there was blood in my urine. I thought it was part of my period a couple weeks ago so i passed it off. but I am bleeding again. Also my stool has been black for the past 4 days. I know the blood is not good but does black stool mean anything?

You should call them today. That way dr can get any tests done or see you early. Never ignore those symptoms. I have had blood in my urine for 2 years but after a complete work up the drs think it's due to the inflamation and all the drugs I take. Still I have a routine UA each month and am followed by a urologist. Cindy

Glad to hear you had a good day yesterday. Black stools and blood in urine is never something to ignore. Please see dr. and let him know everything that's going on. I always test positive for blood in the urine, but it's not something I can visibly see, like you can. Let us know what dr. says. Hugs

Interesting. That might make a good question of the day. How many of us test possitive for blood in urine every month and what do the drs say it is? Cindy

It might not be anything to worry about, but if it were me, I'd get it checked. Why would you not mention it to the doctor?

LC, black stools usually mean blood in the colon. You should not wait to see your dr, call right away. This could be very serious.
Blood in the urine could mean something wrong with your kidneys.
Please, Call your doctor right away!

Dear LC: I am with the rest of the crew here: Please call your doctor as soon as you can. Blood in urine and stools should be addressed ASAP. Please let us you know how are you doing and what the dr. says.

I think "patluvsdogs" just solved the stool thing! Pepto Bismol `causes your stools to turn black!!! I didn't know that, I have been taking that.
I will still tell the doc. but at least maybe that is it!! I will also tell her about the blood thing too.
thanks everyone!!!

I have blood in my urine every time I get it checked. I have seen my primary doc and a urologist. The only explanation they can come up with is that it is from either the RA or my meds... They were able to rule out infection, disease, etc...

went to my pcp and she took a test, you know pee in the cup test. she said there where no signs what so ever of blood in my urin. so that was good. maybe i was just irrotated a little. Iwent on for 2 weeks like on and off seeing the blood it wasn't a lot. but it was there. she said that when woman get in there middle age sometimes they spot in between period that is a sign of getting ready to stop your period. she is taking test though and we are going to keep an eye on it if it starts again.
I got your letter than i can find it!!!! sorry!!!
your friend andrea
