Talked to my lawyer's office today. The SSI hearings are so behind that now instead of 12 month wait my hearing probabaly won't be until January- a 15 month wait.I have been waiting every month to make decisions about keeping my home and what I will do financially since I was assured when I started this that 12 months was the max wait. It makes me SO mad that our government can treat disabiled people like that. It's a good thing today was the day dr upped my heart med.
On top of that I saw the dentist and the gum pocket is still there and he thinks the tooth is cracked. He is going to try a crown and if the gum doesn't improve it will need surgery to close it.
Txnana- I did stop by Walgreens and picked up one of those pretty blue canes. Don't now wether to laugh or cry that I'm excited over it.
Thanks for letting me vent. Cindy

Sometimes that's all we can do, is scream and cry, because it's just not within our power to do anything else!! (I've felt that way in my job lately.) But then, hopefully we can move on to the take a deep breath and try so hard to appreciate what we can. Hang in there. Pray! Maybe on a fluke, someone will drop that stack of papers and you'll end up on top! Never hurts to hope!

You know Cindy tha makes me mad too. I have never filed but I know someone who I used to work with and she has osteoarthritis, when the office moved it's location, she filed for unemployment and SSI just because she didn't want to take the bus a few blocks to work. Somehow, I heard recently that she got approved for both. It was all within the past year. How could she have gotten it so easily and someone like you, who really needs it can't I hope I never have to file but if I do I will be very angry if it takes so long. I think the system is so screwed up.

((( HUGS ))) and definately laugh. How times change. When I was first dx'ed the scariest part was the things that might help (like a cane). Today I look at helpful things and think How cool!
Life it is a changing. I'm so glad that you havekept your sense of humor through all this. You are awesome.

Cindy - I'm so sorry that the SSDI is taking so incredibly long to resolve. I'm going to join with the others and pray that things are miraculously moved up for you. If God can move me to another state with no job and home and give me both in one week, He can certainly move up a hearing for you!
What other cane colors are available? Blue sounds cool, but I'm thinking red might be a striking color, too!
Hugs and prayers continue your way, dear friend.
Robin

You could always get it painted.... Have someone airbrush on some flames or wavy lines so when people see you either they think you are going soooo fast your cane is on fire OR they get dizzy from all the lines.
Have a good one ! Angie

I am sorry you have to go through this!!! It is TERRIBLE that you have to wait so long. It is just not right!!!
I hope something changes soon!!

Cindy, January? Gosh that is terrible, esp with a lot of holidays coming up. You deserve better. You might try calling the health reporter at your local paper. If the paper printed something, it could do wonders for the line.
At least when it gets approved you'll get back pay.
Sorry, Anna
