Huh... my vision has been blury lately. Maybe the Lyrica is to blame. My eyes and mouth get dry and I just figured it was from that (though the dryness is a side effect of the Lyrica).

i was taking lyrica for about 4months or so everything was fine then I suddenly started have blurry vision like I was looking out a kalidescope.  I stopped taking it and havent had blurry vision again.  The blurry vision really scared me and the incrediable weight gain was to much for me.

Hi,

I've been on Lyrica since February 08 and have experienced vision loss.  My eyes get really tired and burn; I also have issues with seeing things clearly.  I just went for my vision test and the doc said my vision is only slightly worse; which I don't understand.  Wondering if its something in my brain that I have these issues??!!  I went to a regular optomotrist and he did a very thorough exam and he said the slight vision loss wasn't from fibro (but what does he know).

Hope this helps!

Kris

when i took lyrica before it was ever fda approved it made me sick and i had nothing but problems so just be sure that if u start taking that you have a little piece of paper that you can write down everyday symptoms or how u are feeling and then you can take that to dr and then he can see if it is from that med or from some other med or meds or if you are having a flare up or if it could be something else going on.. since our immune systems are so depressed you are easily to get any cold ,flu , virus anything that is going around or in the air... hope this helps...

I am also a suffer of fibromyalgia and have taken both Lycria and Cymbalta.  I finally made a decision that the many side effects with taking these medications are too many to take risks with my health.  I did not receive much benefit from either and the side effects are too numerous to mention as you know.  I did some research on my own and I can tell you about a natural product that I have been taking that has helped with the stiffness and pain in my joints so much that I have not taken my prescription meds nor the antidepressants.  I can honestly tell you how much better I feel and this is a natural product and has many other health benefits.    Moxxor is a very potent omega 3 and also has a very potent antioxidant so you have triple benefits.  I've taken some other natural supplements but have not received the results that I have received with Moxxor.  I have been suffering with fibromyalgia for many years and have tried many prescriptions and other ways of relieving pain so I just want to share my good news and share with others that suffer how this has helped me.

If you would like to check it out please feel free to call me at 740-803-0773 or you can log onto my website at www.moxxor.com/lenglund

Barbara,

Have you ever been tested for Sjogren's Syndrome?  It really sounds like you may have it.  Classic symptoms are dry mouth and dry eyes.  Although the disease can affect all the glands in your body by drying them out and your joints.  I was diagnosed via Lip Biopsy.  It sounds worse than it is.  It is actually taking a small gland out from under your tongue, on the bottom of your mouth.

I just wanted you to know this in case you have never heard of it before.  I hope it helps you some.

Sjogren's is a common secondary disease to most of the Autoimmune diseases and RA.

Jen

Lyrica put me in psychiatric hospitals twice in two weeks. I left AMA both times because I wasn't getting any medical care for my other diagnosis, only one being FM. I had weird symptoms so no one believed it was the Lyrica. I was so restless I could not sit down. I had to walk, it was a compulsion I could not control. Of course after a few days of this I looked like I was psychotic, but I wasn't. By the end of the third week on Lyrica I was so exhausted and dibilated that I could not move at all. My husband had to literally carry me everywhere. It was a nightmare. I finally refused to take anymore Lyrica. Guess what? Within 48 hours all the symptoms were gone. I was still too weak to move but I was sane again. Everything I read says that I'm not unusual in that I have so many sensitivities to drugs that it's hard to find any that I can take. This is just part of the illness. So why do doctors not believe us when we tell them that the drugs are causing the symptoms? I am so limited to the drugs I can take that I cannot seem to get better. I was diagnosed in the early '80s (I'm now 67 yrs. old) before anyone knew anything about FM, but was able to go into remission and remained in remission until 3 years ago when I suffered more trauma. I had an FM flare and it's gotten continuously worse. I do hope someone comes up with a treatment that I can tolerate. My message here is to tell anyone who has strange results from Lyrica to stop taking it. Don't believe all the TV ads that say lots of people with FM have been helped with this drug. I don't believe it. Thanks for allowing me to sound off. I'm new to this site and haven't written anything before.

My  Doctor talked to my about those side effects, but thank God!!!

I haven't had any symptom yet, my RHEUMATOLOGIST AND EYE DOCTOR both do explained to me that this can be cause by Lyrica. That's why they recommended to get check every six months my eyes with the eye Doctor and so far I haven't had any problem yet, Thank God!! before I had a severe pain, and ache, stiffness on my knees, back of my neck, feet etc and so far Lyrica helps me a bit more, no 100% but better than nothing, I can function a bit better, sitll get tired and exhausted, can't walk too much, but I do always try everyday. You know I am young 31 and I do think any age always should try the best everyday, because if you do not do it, we can start falling down so quick.

 Good Luck
to you and everybody and let's keep in touch

I have noticed slight vision issues, but not enough to make me quit.  I have not yet noticed any difference since starting the Lyrica.  I seem the same, except vision is worse.  Does anyone who's been on it know how long till I might see a change?

Nicole

I have a lot of those symptoms, too!  Oh, wait, I don't have fibromyalgia and I don't take Lyrica!  I guess I'm just SOL.
