Hi everyone.

I haven't been on the site in a while because I have been in a period of remission. I was diagnosed a number of years ago with RA and after being on methotrexate for a few months, my symptoms all but disappered.

Two days ago, I woke up with a lot of pain in my hands and feet. It didn't go away, even after being up for a while, and today I woke up with knee pain, pretty bad, limping knee pain and it hasn't gone away (dinnertime right now).

I guess I thought I was one of the "lucky" ones that would be in remission forever. I was diagnosed early, at age 27ish and have almost even forgotten I had RA. I don't want to discount that this could be something else (just sore from sleeping funny or something?) but at the same time, at the back of my head all these years, I have wondered...is this just a remission period, will I ever have a flare up? I've been in remission for years. When I first started having symptoms, it wasn't debilitating..it just hurt a lot to do normal daily activity, but I was able to do it. I've gotten rave reviews from my rheumatologist. Wasn't I going to be one of the lucky ones?

So, other than for venting Smile

I guess I'm back on this message board to see who else out there thought they were one of the "lucky ones", only to find out, years down the road, that flares did happen. I guess I just want to be prepared. I want to be optimisic, but I want to be realistic too. What is your story?

Have you gone to RA Connect yet? That's where all the RA folks are. You will get a lot more answers there. ss

When you had your flare up did you just have a baby or were you pregnant? And what was your RA count?
