Would like to see folks posting here again.
Am I the only one who keeps looking for new messages?

I also noticed that there isn't many new entries listed.

Does anyone know of any new studies on Lyrica now that it's been used for fibro. pain for a while?

I'm reluctant to try this drug because I haven't been able to tolerate cymbalta, gabapentin/neurontin even at very low doses. I also have a "feeling" of inflammation already so actually having swelling wouldn't be fun!

Has anyone tried biofeedback for chronic pain control?
Any other coping techniques I should try.

I can't tolerate acupuncture, chiro, physical therapy.

I also have chronic neck pain and 24/7 headaches to add to my daily pain.

I've known two people on Lyrica and both went off due to side effects.
Not much help for you.
I also understand what you're saying! I cant handle PT or chiropractic either.
It hurts too much, and the people who work on you dont always even understand fibro.
Hope to see more posting answers for you!

Hi, I am new here and looking for others that have fibromyalga as I am not haveg any luck so far.  I have questions and would like to talk it over with someone that has the same problem.

I agree with your post..  I have tried it twice because both of my Dr.'s asked me to because they had wonderful results with other patients.  Both times was the same,  I was sick and down.  I am now on cymbalta and have some better results.  I was hoping for better but I will take what I can get.

I have fibromyalgia. I also have RA and since that board is more active I post there. But I'm happy to talk about this monster too.

I have had fibro for about 5 years - just recently also added sjogrens to the dx. I have been looking for years for an online support group that didn't descend into a discussion on how to get disablity. I work full time, I love my job and I want to continue to work and to be productive. I just want to find people that can identify with that and support each other in the daily struggle that the healthy world doesn't understand for those of us that are 'blessed' with these wicked entities.

I haven't tried Lyrica, but know 2 women that are on it, and it really helps them. I could not take cymbalta - the side effects about killed me. I take Lexapro, Ultram, and neurontin, and sometimes boost them with vicodin if it's a rough day. Right now, it's difficult to say what is fibro and what is Sjogrens. They aggravate each other, and some symptoms sem to overlap.

I can't take cymbalta. Nearly killed myself on it. I haven't tried Lyrica. My doctor knows how much I hate weight gain because it puts so much pressure on my joints so he said that it wasn't really worth trying. He said the odds of it working aren't that high so I chose not to take it. Right now Im only on Plaquenil and tramadol. Every day is a struggle but I do what I have to do.

Our local support group keeps up with the research and new ideas coming down the road.  I think soon there will be more choices than just Lyrica.  Most folks in our group didnt like it or stay on it.

Anyway, there should be some more choices soon.
