It is so wonderful to read the good news on the board. It seems like the medicines, as various as they may be, are working wonders. I also have good news to share. My daughter touched her shoulders for the first time in three years. (You know like the M in the Y M C A song.) When she started Kindergarten 2 years ago, it was one of the first indications of a problem like arthritis, she could not do the M in the Y M C A song in PE. She came home from school all upset. Well, two and 1/2 years later, she can do it. I believe it is because the inflamation in her wrists and top of the hands has gone down. (There were a couple of posts earlier about Moms worried about permanent loss of range of motion and damage to joints. I think you can bounce back from that. It took 2 1/2 years from diagnosis for her to be able to touch her shoulders.) Another thing that is interesting is that we switched her medicine a month ago. She went off MTX and resumed Trilcyate (aspirin derivitaive) and Orapred. Well, thanks for letting me share. To all those moms right now experiencing a flare or a bad time, your time will come. Keep the hope, the flare ending is just around the corner. My daughter and I go through lots of flare. We are with you in spirit and hope for you to have good news soon. Take care, Amy
