I have had so much shedding going on that I have to pour drano down the drain at least every 6 weeks. My hair also lost all it's shine and just looked and felt really bad. I started taking the vitamin BIOTIN about a month ago, I researched it and found there are no known side effects, so I take a 1000mcg twice a day. In just 2 weeks, my hair not only stopped shedding, but picked up a healthy shine and texture. I have had no side effects from the biotin, so I wanted to share the great discovery with anyone else who has been going through the hair loss.

I'm experiencing a hair loss also. My doctor gives me 5mg a day. I just started today. But....I want to know why we are experiencing a hair loss? Do you know?

Hi there! I too have suffered from terrible hair loss. I was on MTX, Plaquenil and Arava. All three cause hair loss. I have gotten off of the Arava and Plaquenil for several months. I have noticed a big difference in my hair. It is not falling out as much and the shine is coming back. I take folic acid, Biotin and Vitamin E. I also use a shampoo called Come Back Scalp and Hair Tx. I can see all kinds of new hairs growing all over my head. I think it is a shame to have to take all these meds and then have to deal with other problems like hair loss. Email me if you have any questions. Hope this helps.
