IM A TEENAGER WHO HAD LYME DISEASE AND NOW HAS ARTHRITIS.

I HAVE BEEN TAKEING MEDICATION FOR A MONTH AND IM GOING BACK TO THE DOCTOR THIS WEEK

I CAN EITHER STAY ON THE MEDICATION OR GET A SHOT. IM SO SCARED AND I NEED SOME ADVICE!

Welcome to the board but I'm sorry you have reason to be here.  You don't say what kind of arthritis you have, and there are over 150 different kinds.  Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis but that usually happens after an injury or with lots of wear and tear with age.  Of the inflammatory arthritis the most common is Rheumatoid Arthritis and the forum for that is the most active one.  To really diagnose and treat any arthritis you need to be seeing a board-certified rheumatologist.  If you tell us more about your medical history someone will be better able to help you.  God bless.

Age 82, diagnosed RA 12/2001, married since 1952, 4 sons no daughters, 4 grandsons 1 granddaughter.  Doing well on Methotrexate and Remicade.

Well i have RA AND A SWOLLEN KNEE AND IM NOT SURE IF I SHOULD CONTINUE MY MEDICATION OR GET A SHOT. I have bo clue what to do. My knee has been swollen for a year
