I will be participating in the Greensboro, NC walk this September.  I did the one in Charlotte last year and found it very rewarding.

Des Moines walk

team name: Kenzie's Krew

Four yrs ago was our 1st walk that was in May. We started walking in honor of our 4 yr old who that Feb. had been dianosed with JRA. We were so proud of her she was just 4 and with Arthritis in her feet she walked the intire walk. We were the last team done that yr. but she did it!!!!

So this yr will be our 4th walk!

We have a lot of wonderful people sponsoring her. Her whole school (with Pennies for Arthritis in past yrs. This year they are having a PJ day wear your PJ to school for $1.00 donation to her walk team), the great union members who work with my husband and donate at a Gate Collection every yr at his work.

Our family will walk in the East Texas Arthritis walk in Tyler, Texas.  This year, my daughter is the hero of the walk.  She was diagnosed with Systemic Onset JRA when she was 5.  She is doing great.  You can check out her story on www.easttexasarthritiswalk.org.

HI! my name is Yvonne and this is my very first of many walks. My daughter was diagnosed with JRA when she was around 9 or 10. She is now 17 and has come a long way. Our walk will take place May 30 in San Antonio, Texas. Please visit our website at sanantonioarthitiswalk.org/teameileen. Team Eileen is our team. Wish us luck!

I want to do the Arthritis Walk, and have this week recruted my boyfriend, some family, and friends for a total of 10 walkers. The next walk around us isn't until May of 2010, and even then we would have to drive a good hour and a half. Sacramento and San Francisco are the nearest walks. I think there sould be an arthritis event in the city next to the small town I live in, which is Santa Rosa. I would really like to start a Jingle Bells one, but not sure how long it takes. Here's what Wikipidia had to say about Santa Rosa-

"Santa Rosa is the county seat of Sonoma County, California, United States. As of January 1, 2008, the population of Santa Rosa was approximately 161,496 residents. Santa Rosa is the largest city in California's Wine Country and fifth largest city in the San Francisco Bay Area, after San Jose, San Francisco, Oakland, and Fremont. Santa Rosa's metropolitan statistical area has a population of 486,630, making it the 12th largest in California and the 105th largest in the United States."

Does anyone know how I would go about starting a new walk in a big city?
