I am 22 years old. I have had 3 bunion surgeries on my left foot. Now I have arthritis in my toe joint. I am in a lot of pain. My doctor said the only thing that would help is a fusion. I have done some research and I could be laid up for up to six months. Does this sugery work? Is a joint replacement better? Could someone please give me some advice.

Hi,

What part of the foot are they talking about fusing?..I have had subtalor, and triple arthodesis fusions.

I have a crossover bunion, and they can't do a bunion surgery, because of my ankle fusions. the orthopedic foot/ankle surgeon suggests i can get that great toe fused. I just deal with it by buying bigger shoes.

But if they are saying you have arthitis in your feet, are you on any meds?..This happened to me, ages ago, after a minor foot surgery, they noticed plenty of arthitis, during the surgery.  I hope you can get out of the pain, and get some treatment
