Hi there im new on here, and have been suffering from hip pain for about a month now only in my left hip.. when its bad i walk with a limp. also my foot has just started to hurt too, it hurts across the bones befor my toes and actually feels like my bones are hurting.. i have a appointment tomorrow as my mum has rheumatoid arthritis and she thinks i may have it too, i have no swelling though?? does anyone have same symptoms or ideas as to what it could be??

Hi, Sarah! Welcome! I, too, have had hip pain. Until you have it checked out by a doctor, it's hard to tell if the pain is actually coming from your hip or if it's referred pain from your back. You can have a back problem that causes hip pain without your back hurting. Since your mom has RA, it's a really good thing for you to get in and get a blood workup done to see if you're showing any signs of it. It can be hereditary.

Just FYI, you might want to post this question on the RA forum. There's a lot of activity on that forum and it'll give you a lot more responses. Please post again and let us know how things are going after you go to the doctor. In the meantime, take care of yourself and know this is a great place to get the support you need. Pam

I have a lot of problems with my hips. Chronic bursitis. My right hip is the worst and has been hurting for months. My rheummy has put injections of lidocaine and steriods into it. That use to work well...now it barely lasts a month. I have just learned to put up with it and limp along.

It does limit me in how far I can walk. Walmart and the malls are totally off limits for me.

Current meds, Humira weekly, Lodine, Lidocaine patches, Flector patches, Voltaren Gel, flexeril, prednisone and claritin.

Dx'd 2002. Treating RA with Lupus like characteristics, osteo-arthritis and Fibromyalgia.

Blessed to be working full time from home.
