Hi and welcome....just wanted to say , yes, that happened to me, with the left subtalor fusion...screws cracked, and i had a redone.  Make sure you try to rent a Roll-a-bout, so you can kneel in it, with that leg, and get about some. I also rented a wheelchair, with leg attachments, to get out of the house some. Are they going to do a graft for the next surgery?

the one thing which was good , was left leg, i could drive after some time, not far, because i needed that leg elevated

You can try posting, in the surgery and arthitis section here...and i am giving you the link for Yahoo Ankle Fusion message board. Your lucky to have a computer for support, as i didn't have one, when i got my ankle fused...and you can get lots of support

Good luck

Hi, this is my first time here so I am not sure I am doing this correctly. I have recently had a fusion in my left foot that did not fuse and now have a broken screw in my foot. Am scheduled for surgery next month in Nashville, anyone else ever have this problem? I was no weight bearing for 3&1/2 months the first time, I really don't want to have to go through this again. Any suggestions.

Lissa, I would also like to welcome you to the site.  When you want to start a new topic, click the 'Add Topic' box at the top of any post or at the top of RA Connect or any other group.  I haven't had my ankle fused but I have had knuckle replacement surgery that didn't have a favorable outcome.  I chose to have it redone with a different type of joint and I am glad I did.  The recovery was much better with less pain than the first surgery.  I sure would want to get a broken screw out of my body!  Good luck. ss

I had my left ankle fused almost exactly 2 yrs ago-how time flies--yes it is a long time non wt bearing-Pat is right-the roll about or something like it is a must. I also joined the ankle support group at yahoo and found so much useful information from other people and from the links they have-

I have 2 kids and I managed with minimal help--the first 2-3 weeks are the hardest--after that not so bad-as long as you are prepared--I had rides arranged for the kids for camp and my parents brought over dinners--other than that I managed around the house by hopping and using the leg caddy--

good luck
