However my son was born in Russia and received the BCG vaccine at 4 months old (we adopted him at 8 months old) so he will most likely have an iffy negative, if not outright positive TB skin test. We are working on the plan of attack if that happens because we need to make certain he does not have latent TB...which he could based on the indicence of TB in Russia. I highly doubt anyone has had this happen...but if you have...what was your next steps? I understand the Quantiferon test is unreliable in kids under 17.
I was pleaseantly surprised with the Enbrel Co-pay program...I have a high deductible insurance plan ($4000 deductible including prescriptions) but we got approved the co-pay program...up to $750 toward the monthly costs. After the first month we should be at my deductible but then the card works toward the co-pay...this is a huge relief for us. The rheumy wasn't certain we would qualify...so I decided to share in case anyone else needed this info.
I asked the rheumy about approving a stroller and he said to wait...he feels we will see great improvement in my son within a month...I hope and pray he is right!
So, that's our little update...we'll find out Wednesday about the TB skin test...but so far he's had no reaction...yay!

The TB test was fine...he had no reaction at all. Now we are just waiting for the insurance company to give the go-ahead for the Enbrel...they will cover it, they are just being a pain requiring preauthorization. Hopefully by tomorrow we will have it...if not we'll start next weekend.

I'll start a new thread on that.
