Hi

This is my first post here. I definitely have some kind of arthritis, I have an appointment with my rheumy tomorrow and I will hopefully get a definitive diagnosis and can start treatment. I am reasonably sure that it is RA, although my symptoms are relativley mild so far. I have had it for less than a year, and I am glad to have gotten a quick diagnosis. Still, finding out that you have a chronic illness that can be quite serious is scary, to say the least.

Welcome to the board.  I post mostly on the Rheumatoid Arthritis board here (RA Connect) and you are welcome to join us there with or without a diagnosis of RA.  Sometimes it takes quite a while to get a positive diagnosis and even then it may change as the doctor learns more about you.  I think effective treatment is more important than the diagnosis but the diagnosis helps to get effective treatment.  I hope you get effective treatment.  God bless.

Age 82, diagnosed RA 12/2001, married since 1952, 4 sons no daughters, 4 grandsons 1 granddaughter.  Doing well on Methotrexate and Remicade.
