I noticed yesturday that my little guy was biting the inside of the side of his lip. When I looked I saw a couple of blisters. When I looked later I thought it looked better and thought he might have bit it. Then I took a closer look today and noticed that the blisters were gone and that the area on top looks white. Has anyone experienced mouth sores and how do you know if it is associated with the arthritis. Any help would be appreciated.
Jen

MTX can cause mouth sores. The folic acid prevents this side effect. if your son is already taking folate, he may need an increased dose. I'd call your dr to check it out.

I think a lot of meds can cause mouth sores... I know mtx can. I would call your doc about it. My daughter still gets little white bumps on her toungue (spelling)... not sure why, they come and go and she isn't currently on any meds.... not sure if that is the same thing you are talking about... but she has gotten that ever since she was young. I guess it could be associated with the arthritis.

Juile, you probably already know about thrush but your post sounds like it could be that. God bless.
