I posted before that I had bronchitis again. About two days after I seen my GP I was still getting worse. I called his office on Thursday and they told my mom to take me to the ER. I was coughing so bad I was so sore and hard time to breath. I couldn't catch my breath. My GP though that they might do a chest x-ray to rule out pnemonia but they never. They said that your lungs sounded clear and the shortness of breath that I was feeling was from coughing so much. The ER doctor said it was something viral and just had to wait it out. I was already on antiboitic from my gp. Then yesterday I was coughing, gagging and throwing up. I got out of bed once and I guess it was from coughing so much, gagging and not able to eat that I got realy dizzy. I was holding onto the wall calling out to my parents to come catch me before I fell. I got some cough syrup in a pill that is what I call them from my GP. The last two times I took cough syrup it hurt my stoamch. He gave me two bottles with 20 in each of them. He said that he had samples so I expetcted maybe 10 not two full bottles. He asked my sister that works in the same building as he do how I was doing. Those cough pills realy helped with the cough. Now all I have to do is get my muscles a rest and to get my enegry back. But I was some sick. My GP was so good to me during all this and he was realy concerned about me. I was suprised that he even asked how I was doing. I have never had a doctor be that concerned about me before. I could not have asked for any one better. I am slowly on the mend but I think that it is going to take along time to get my strenght back. Hope every one is havinf a good day.

Whew! Poor Maire, you have certainly had a rough time.

I'm glad the medicine shut down the coughing for you so your chest muscles can rest. Please take it easy now and don't push yourself.

Hugs,

Hi Maire,

It's so hard to feel good about getting better when your coughing every 30 seconds, your chest starts to hurt, you can never get comfortable, you know the drill.

Try not to overly exert yourself today. That way your lungs can take a rest. I've also found that speaking can exacerbate coughing. So consider spending a day to just yourself without talking to anyone. Your family will understand if you explain it to them, briefly.

God Bless

I'm off Prednisone! and off Bactrim, currently taking Atenenol, Albuterol, Glipizide, Lozol, NOMORE NSAIDS and trying to lose the 30+lbs that I gained recently from Prednisone. Just added Arava. Diagnosed with RA in 1982. Fighting ILD. I'm dealing with my Diabetes and I've only begun to truely understand RA.

Thanks everyone. I am going to look after myself and rest rest rest. My brothers birthday was yesterday. So tomorrow his girl friend is going to cook a trukey dinner. So I wll rest until it is time to go there, eat and come home and rest again. But if I am not feeling up to that then I will stay in bed and get them to bring me my turkey dinner. But I am looking forward to that dinner. If I do go over for dinner I will go over there and lie around. Thanks again everyone.

Good idea, Maire.

I hope the rest will help you get rid of the rest of the bronchitis.

Your turkey dinner reminded me of the summer we spent in Newfoundland in 2001. No matter how small the town we visited, there was always a nice little restaurant with freshly cooked turkey. I ate turkey sandwiches every day for 2 months because they were so delicious.

I am feeling better today. I will be going to dinner to my brothers but I go in his lazy boy but up my feet and let others attend to me. Considering I am a guest an all.LOL. I am going to try work tomorrow. I will show up but not saying how much acctual work I do. I work for a good boss. He has been off the same days as I have so we might both be coming back tomorrow. All the mangers tell me to take breaks and pace myself. If I go and don't feel up to it I will just leave and come home. I will have no problems getting a note from my doctor so that helps too. Thanks everyone.
