Of coure it is the prerogative of the admins of this board to delete my previous post but I feel the need to clarify the comments left on it.

The first stated that my new forum was full of spam, that is incorrect. They must have visited a different site.
The second said I was trying to steal members - that is incorrect.

All I am trying to do is set up a resource for people with arthritis - no competition. No advertising. No funded by...

A resource run by people with arthritis for people with arthritis. If this offended some I sincerely apologise.

Hey, Steve! I can see your new forum is just what you said. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. We're a little gun shy around here - we get some carpet baggers here every once in a while trying to peddle their goods !

Hey, guys! I think Steve just wanted to let us know he had started a new resource. He literally just started the forum last week and is getting the word out. I didn't see any ads or anything, just a few people who are getting together to talk about the same things we talk about here.

Liz

I think the issue was caused by a typo or an incorrect reading: You get different sites for "...forum.org" versus "...forums.org."

I'd encourage you to make the forums public versus private. I run a site that has almost 15K members, and it has been my experience that closed forums experience very little growth. If you're interested in simply forming a small clique/support group, then that's an okay approach. But if you're trying to develop a useful resource that will help people, public is the way to go. Just a thought.

Thanks for the comment.

I do not want an open site, I want a safe place where people do not have to worry about anonymous people reading intimate details. I have robots.txt set to no index no follow.

I know this works, I have 3000+ members on my leukemia support site with 1000 unique members visiting per day. Quality not quantity.

Cheers
Steve

Hey Steve your back. So glad you didnt give up your dream. So are you actually going to contribute any information to the site or are you here just to pick a few members today???? I have visited your site along with many others. This place has the best people with the best information a person can get. Sorry I am not interested in visiting your site on a regular basis, best of luck to you!!!!

So just in case I was wrong I just finished visiting your site again. You never stated to me that it was for the intellectually challenged? I thought I might be able to find some usefull info on your site. I clicked on what I thought was a good post. It is called "movement". Yes my joints hurt and maybe I could find some new advice here. No such luck. This post simply states that if I post something and Steve feels it is in the wrong area he will move it for me to the correct location, this was "movement". That was not very helpfull. I did really like the mean dog trying to bust his chain picture.

Hi Steve,
Saw your private site. Also looked at your CLL site. If you have both chronic lymphatic leukemia and rheumatoid arthritis my deepest sympathy to you. You must be very strong to handle both and manage these websites. If you don't have these diseases and are just in the business of creating forums for your own personal interests, whatever they are, I think I will pass. This is the forum that I have settled on. If I wanted to go elsewhere there are a couple other RA forums that I could go to, but you probably already know about them as well.
Take care and God bless.
Bob

"If you have both chronic lymphatic leukemia and rheumatoid arthritis my deepest sympathy to you"

I do, so do others. (well I have CLL and seronegative arthritis) There is a statistically relevent increase in people with RA developing CLL (look it up on Pub Med).
Two forums in 5 years - not a very good scammer am I?

I posted with my real name - the same name registered as the "owner" of www.arthritisforum.org (do a whois lookup).

I cannot believe the negativity.
