OA knuckle, Needs to be replaced

I saw an orthopedic hand specialist today. He said I have to have a joint replacement of my middle finger knuckle of my right hand, related to osteoarthritis caused by trauma. Has anyone here had that done, could you please tell me a little bit about it. Thanks.

Hi and welcome. Did you read my thread "Knuckle replacement"? I know It is from a different arthritis (I have RA) but I would think the proceedure would be the same. I had all 4 knuckles replaced on my right hand, twice! If you have any specific questions, please ask away! starshine.
