I'm in PA about 20miles north west of Phila. We got about 14 inches on Saturday, but in philly they got 30. They are calling for 12-18 more inches Tuesday night into Wednesday. I work for a school district so we will probably have off on Wed, maybe Thursday---Friday is an inservice day and we are off Monday. Nice little vacation, but I could definitely do without the snow.

It came back! When I fell asleep last night it was raining. Woke up this morning thinking I could finally get some of my home visits done and the roads haven't even been plowed. Apparently it started snowing at around 2 am and hasn't stopped since. It's snowing so hard I'm sure they're thinking "what's the use?". There are 700 cancellations on the news!

It's absolutely beautiful, though. I may just have to put on the wellies and some thick fleece socks and take the furbaby out for a walk in this winter wonderland! The city of Pittsburgh is basically closed for business. I can't remember anything quite like this since 1993 when I was an undergrad at Pitt and the buses were out of service because all of the roads were drifted shut! Jack is swimming through the drifts and digging snow tunnels. I should videotape it and see if I can't win a prize on that funny video show! All I can see of him at times are the ears and the curly tail poking out from the snow.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Maybe this should be a new threat, titled Blizzard of 2010, Part Deux!

Talked to my son in Northern VA yesterday and he said there is no place left for him to put the snow. He has a little bungalow house on a city street, with only room for one car in the drive and one on the street. The pile of snow that he shoveled is about 7 feet high on his postage stamp lawn.

Your grandchildren will be talking about this for years to come. And the weather service will use it as a standard for the record books.

Bless all you hardy souls who can thrive in such climate!
