I am a recently retired Air Force Occupational Therapist. I now have time to write! I have written my first 3 of many articles on arthritis relief strategies on HubPages. Info is very practical and logical, compilations of what I have learned from arthritis clients over the last 20+ years. I'm just looking for readers. Any ideas of where I can post my article links? Can I post here?

Hello Folks, I was wondering if anyone else has arthritis which is affected by or has coincided with menopause or premenopause. My symptoms have rapidly gained speed over the past 2 months. These past months happen to be 2 months when I did not experience menses. I've been irregular since I turned 45 and am now 48. Along with joint aches I feel run down and tired with enlarged glands in my neck. Let me know if anyone else is aware of this.

Hello! First off I will say I've been hard on my joints forever. I am not surprised to have pain. Maybe 6 years ago I began to have a shocking, sharp and stabbing pain in my left hip, seemingly on the outside. The pain was so sudden I screamed. Thius pain occured infrequently for the past few years- often while lying down. Then I noticed a feeling of some numbness on the outer thigh on same leg. What has happened recently,my car broke down 6 months ago and I am walking everywhere. Over the last month and a half I have begun to have arthritis like pain in just about all my joints. Usually the same joint on each side. Also, the left leg with the stabbing pain has begun to pain me down the leg and even under my foot. Also my butt when I sit. So,elbows, hands, knees, and feet. Anyone hear something familiar? I'm a mess!

I was told by the orthopedist I've been seeing that the pain in my lower back is arthritis. PT tried heat before exercises but the weight of the hot packs before and the cold packs after were too painful to continue at that time. This was before the arthritis diagnosis. He referred me to another doctor for injections. When I saw her, she told me they would be injecting steroids into my back. The problem I have is I become emotionally unstable if I use hydrocortisone cream. I currently have a mood related diagnosis that could become much worse if I allow them to do the injection. Can anyone tell me about their emotional state after getting steroid injection? (I'm asking for how you were emotionally before, after, during the months after...) Please anybody.
