Gluten-free and R.A.
Posted by: Sue Bolton on September 14, 2008 at 6:32PM EST
Has anyone heard of and/or tried a gluten-free diet with R.A.?  A friend told me about it for my mom, and I was wondering if it works.

YES!!

I was diagnosed with RA about 2 years ago. In May I went on a gluten-free diet. I am now about 75% better!!!

I'm not sure if this diet will work for everyone, but for me it has made a tremendous difference!!

The diet is not easy, but it is well worth trying. For me it took about 6 weeks before I noticed any difference.

Last year I was occassionally using a cane, and I had difficulty doing many everyday tasks. Now my pain is greatly reduced, my mobility is almost normal, and I am weaning off my meds!!

I've told people that my bad days now are better than my good days used to me.

Let me know if you have questions.
