hip pain
Posted by: Siv Goulding on January 16, 2009 at 1:56PM EST
Has anyone experienced soreness after hip replacement. I had both hips replaced in 2005 and the surgery went well. But ever since the replacements I have had soreness in my hips. My hips work fine, but The soreness is so bad that I have a hard time sticking with strengthening exercises. Thanks for any light you could shed on this, SIV

Sorry to hear about the hip soreness. I had both my hips replaced in 2006, but I don't have any soreness. Do you have followups with your ortho doc? You should discuss with him.

Good luck, sorry I couldn't have been of more help.

Hello Siv,
Sorry that you are having so much hip pain. I don't have any hip replacement surgeries. I am a neuromuscular massage therapist and have worked on some clients who had hip replacement surgeries and had soreness in their hip area and massage has helped them with the soreness. I massaged the muscles along the hip area(not at the joints) so maybe you want to try that out. You can call the American MMassage Theray Association to find a neuromuscular massage therapist in your area.
Good luck. Hope this will help you
