First timer here. I have not been to a doctor yet as I no longer have health insurance so I am trying to figure this all out on my own. What is the physical and medical difference between the two adult arthritis conditions. I have the joint pains but not in both sides at the same time which seems to be a key factor in RA. I have a new "tremendous" joint pain in my right hand today. Friday November 6, 2009

I just participated in a paid research study for RA. They are conducting research for people diagnosed in the last 12 months. Contact them at kbnr@att.net. I was $100 paid for completing a 45 minute telephone survey.

Hi all, New to the site. diagnosed 15 months ago, currently on MTX and Humira, and waaay to much prednisone. I was on Enbrel for 9 months, and it quit working, I have been on Humira for 2 months but I have been going downhill since starting. Any suggestions on what has worked for you? I am a nurse, so I know about what is out there, just looking for first-hand accounts of biologics, subQ and infused. Also, for the past few months I have had HORRIBLE low back pain, which my rheumo. says is not related to the RA. Yeah, right. Any thoughts? I would love and appreciate any and all input/info by people who have been through this. Also, I have tried to stay away from narcotics of any kind, but I may have to go in that direction. What works best for all of you? Thanks very much

I am wondering how many of us here are taking a biologic? And is it working for YOU the individual?
I am on MTX, Humira and Prednisone. My Rheumy is toying with the idea to introduce another biologic since the Generic companies will be offering cheaper forms of these drugs. And do you buy into the information that these biologics have a life of 5 yrs. making us feel better? And what does this really mean for us?
I am struggling as much these days with hands and spine issues. I have also been told I have organ involvement-whatever this is suppose to mean. I'm just wondering I guess--trying to get past the pain of today... Thanks.
